With Halloween just a few days away, we've noticed a shift toward the macabre in Paper: spooky specters in empty hallways, grinning skeletons, and an arresting image of a spirit animal. In Paper, users are combining photos with illustrated details to create eerie effects.
Juxtaposed with a skeleton, a background photo of dusty pink roses look like funeral flowers (top image), and a vacant train car gains a few ghost riders.
Here's how to draw on top of images in Paper, and add some spookiness for All Hallows' Eve:
- Open Paper, then press the "+" button to open a new page.
- Tap the camera icon to take a photo, or select one from your Camera Roll.
- Resize the photo if you wish, then press Done.
- Select the sketch icon (squiggle) to draw scary details on your photo.
- Press Done to finish.
Star this sketch to save it in Paper, and "carve" the pumpkin with the eraser to reveal the flames underneath:
